In Zukunft wird es jetzt öfters Neuigkeiten zur 9. Staffel geben, weil ABC ja daran arbeitet aus dem Übrigbleibsel von Scrubs etwas möglichst Gutes zu machen, und da werden wohl die ein oder anderen Infos rauskommen. Am Sonntag hat sich Zach Braff über Myspace bzw Facebook zu der aktuellen Situation geäußert:

To clear up the confusion:
Scrubs will be coming back, but in a new incarnation. Scrubs as we’ve all known it is over. That chapter is closed. But as there are so many fans of the characters and writing of the show worldwide, the powers that be have decided to try and keep them alive a little longer (in the spirit of „Frasier“ being a new chapter of „Cheers“.)

I will be in the first 6 episodes of this new incarnation to help transition the show into what it will become. And then I will be off to work on some new projects that I’m very excited about/ write my new movie/continue to learn how to fly airplanes. :)) As to what the new show is? That’s only clear in the mind of Bill Lawrence at this time.

I know many of you will have very strong opinions on this topic. And I respect them all. But first and foremost, if any of you were in a position to put about 200 people whom you really loved back to work in this economy, you would do it in a second. That has always been in the back of Bill’s and my mind; we just didn’t imagine ABC would ever give us the opportunity to keep it going.

If anyone can find an interesting new shape for the show it’s Bill. Don’t hate it until you see what he comes up with. Once its up and going there will be plenty of time for you to decide whether you love it or hate it.

Die zwei wichtigen Punkte aus dieser Nachricht:

- „Scrubs as we’ve all known it is over. That chapter is closed.“ Zach Braff sagt es so, wie es ist: Scrubs ist zu Ende, die Fortsetzung ist kein „echtes Scrubs“ mehr.  „Once its up and going there will be plenty of time for you to decide whether you love it or hate it.“ Es könnte sein, dass es ziemlich gut wird, aber ein Scrubs im eigentlichen Sinne wird es nicht mehr sein. Was ist schon Scrubs ohne JDs Tagträume und Voice-over Kommentare? Love it or hate it.

-  „As to what the new show is? That’s only clear in the mind of Bill Lawrence at this time.“ Dass Bill Lawrence weiterhin Creator bzw. Producer bleibt, hab ich nicht gewusst. Damit bleibt doch eine Chance, dass etwas Gescheites daraus wird.

Insgesamt schaut es  zur Zeit so aus: Zach Braff (JD) und Sarah Chalke (Elliot) sind für 6 Episoden dabei (wobei Sarah Chalke noch nichts genaueres weiß: „I actually don’t know yet what I’m going to do, but I will very soon“), Donald Faison (Turk) und John McGinley (Dr. Cox) werden normal dabei sein (ihre neuen Serien wurden nicht genommen), Neill Flynn (der Hausmeister) und  Christa Miller (Jordan) sind draußen (ihre neuen Serien werden produziert), genauso wie Judy Reyes (Carla).

Es ergeben sich laut serienjunkies.de zwei Möglichkeiten: Entweder die Serie bleibt im Sacred Heart Hospital, somit würden wahrscheinlich die neuen Anfänger (aus den Webisodes) im Mittelpunkt stehen. Die andere Möglichkeit wäre, einen Charakter herauszunehmen und in ein neues Krankenhaus zu versetzen, natürlich würden die anderen Charaktere aber genug Kontakt haben und so auch noch genug vorkommen.
